    These grapes were selected from vineyards in Marlborough’s Wairau Valley and the neighbouring Awatere Valley. Fast draining, alluvial loams over gravelly subsoils in these valleys provide ideal growing conditions for our Sauvignon Blanc. Individual blocks were targeted for their strengths and overall contribution to the blend. The vines ranged in age, up to 14 years, bringing a mix of youthful vigour and depth of flavour.

    Sourced predominantly from the Wairau and Awatere subregions of Marlborough, this wine shows intense fruit aromas of pears, Braeburn apple, melon, and honey with hints of spice. An ideal wine by itself or paired with fresh seafood or Southeast Asian cuisine.

    After harvest, the grapes were crushed and direct pressed with minimal skin contact. The clarified juice was then cool fermented to optimise varietal expression, flavour, and intensity. There was no wood and minimal skin contact. We used five different yeasts to ensure that we profiled the fruit and kept the fresh acidity.

    If you like Chardonnay with true expression of fruit then this is one to love! This wine does not hide behind any oak. It’s a crisp wine that tastes of the succulence and freshness of the grape.

    The grapes for this wine are from selected vineyards in Marlborough and Hawke’s Bay on the East Coast of New Zealand. These Chardonnay grapes were selected to create an approachable, and fruit-forward, unoaked-style Chardonnay. Exposure of the bunches to sunlight is imperative to our style, which is ripe and fruit driven. Canopy management reflects the desired flavour profile. Clone selection is important in this style as we seek intense stone fruit and pear flavours, coupled with powerful and strong citrus characters. Secondary malolactic fermentation gives nuttiness and generous mouthfeel.

    These grapes are from some of our favorite cool-climate vineyards on New Zealand’s South Island. We’ve used a wide variety of clones and rootstock, along with a mixture of soils and microclimates to ensure a balance of flavour profiles and exceptional quality.

    This wine is enticingly aromatic showing notes of dark cherries and strawberries. Partially aged in French oak barrels for the alluring complexity of well integrated oak and fine silky tannins. Aged in a mixture of French oak barrels and tank for five months. Superb with herb-crusted lamb, mushroom risotto or all on its own.
